Blue Crush

The MoxieBee buyers have the blues this summer. While picking out this season’s crop of dresses and tops, we definitely leaned toward shades of cerulean, cornflower and cobalt. While the blue choices may be due to our overwhelming urge to be somewhere with rolling waves, we really wanted to be on trend. Blue is a big color this season!

Take this elegant ombre silk dress by Glam. This would be perfect to take on a beach vacation. Not only is silk easy to pack, but this dress is lightweight and ocean-inspired.

Expand your summer wardrobe in this elegant Petal-Sleeved Dress by Ya. The billowy sleeves are feminine and pretty. It’s perfect for the office but you can also wear it out on a date or even to a wedding.

We also love this Bright Blue Pocketed Dress for a myriad of reasons. I have worn this multiple times in the few weeks I’ve had it. It looks great with our Hand Painted Bird Earrings and red sandals and I’ve also paired it with flip flops and worn it as a swim cover up.

This graceful azure blouse with rosette detailing is perfect for an evening out. Pair it with skinny jeans and silver gladiator sandals and prepare to turn heads.

There is something ultra-feminine about a wrap-style dress. It hugs your curves and showcases your best assets. This navy wrap dress is no exception, and the bell sleeves are a nice update on a classic.

Color Your World

Spring is in full bloom again and I couldn’t be more thrilled. Here in Texas, this is the time when we have a short window of beautiful sunny weather where it’s warm but not 104 degrees. It’s also the time when I begin to shop again after several months of wearing sweaters and bulky coats. I love all of the great trends this spring, but among my favorites are the florals and bright, attention-getting colors that mimic what’s blooming outside.

I love this fuchsia and grey flutter-sleeved blouse. It has a bohemian feel and looks great with trouser jeans and wedges.

Another favorite is this yellow satin dress. It’s feminine and pretty and can be worn as a cocktail dress or to a daytime wedding, depending on how you accessorize it. We like it with brightly colored heels in red or blue or with metallic flats.

This ruffled wrap top comes in two gorgeous shades of hot pink or grass green. The fabric is so soft and has a sateen finish to it that gives a polished look. Pair it with our black pencil skirt and pumps for the office or with white jeans for the weekend.

I also love this multi-colored necklace and matching earrings. It has so many different colors in it, but is also dainty enough that it goes with just about anything. If you are a little shy about wearing bright colors, this is a good way to ease into the trend. Try pairing this with a simple white button down and jeans and brightly colored heels in a shade of green or magenta.

For another fun piece of colorful jewelry, check out this art deco style cocktail ring. We love the vintage look and the color combination of turquoise and tangerine is eye-catching. Pair it with our matching coral or turquoise earrings that are super fun and chic.

Better Off Red

Valentine’s Day has come and gone and I am still seeing red everywhere. This year’s Academy Awards were no exception. Some of the most stunning gowns were in dramatic shades of red. Fortunately, MoxieBee has been paying attention to this traffic-stopping trend.

We have this fabulous red trench coat, made to turn heads and to help you transition your wardrobe into Spring. The three-quarter length sleeves and lightweight fabric keep it in season, and the belted waist will give you a feminine silhouette. Thanks for Shopalicious for spreading the buzz about this piece!

We also love this red satin cap-sleeve top. The neckline and ruching give it a decidedly romantic look. Wear it with a flowing A-line skirt for evening or with a jacket and pencil skirt to the office.

If it’s accessories you’re after, check out this unique red snakeskin clutch. There are multiple compartments for lipstick, keys and credit cards and it fits nicely into your purse so you can easily transition to Happy Hour after work.

MoxieBee Has Landed

Thanks so much for taking a moment to check out our blog. We hope this will serve as a helpful shopping source for those looking to stay on trend and on a budget. Please check out our website, MoxieBee.com, to find pieces that will help you build a buzzworthy wardrobe.

MoxieBee was born on a trip to Jamaica where two frugals were vacationing and lamenting the lack of affordable fashion for the chic but cost-conscious. All of the inexpensive clothes seemed to be geared at teens. Most of us are on a budget when it comes to shopping but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still be able to look fabulous.

Visit our site to find fashionable clothes for work and weekend wear. (Welcome SoFrugalicious readers!) Feel free to email us with fashion questions, dilemmas, ideas or suggestions. We want to hear from you!

We hope you will check back often to see what’s new! Thanks again for stopping in.

Sincerely,

The MoxieBee Staff
